Outdoor Sunday

So I have been wanting to write for a while and there is always so much to write and so many new things going on in my life. So many awesome (maybe aweful is a better word because it is full of awe, that is better than just some awe. right?) So maybe I will explain just my weekend. Friday on my Sabbath I hung out with my new and aweful friend Katie and then with her family at night playing Settlers of Catan and went to to the Celebration on the Grand Fireworks... pretty good stuff I have to say. I also saw a bunch of people I new in Grand Rapids there and we saw my sister and her Mike.

So Yesterday, I got up pretty early and went to the Allegan County Fair to watch friends and a lot of the new people I have met this summer in Hamilton show there Hogs and Sheep and Horses. IT was a long hot day, but was a lot of fun and exciting to see all these friends from my new home show there stuff. I even saw some Dordt people that couldn't stay away from the good times in Michigan so came up for the weekend to see the fair and fieonces. Then I actually got home at a reasonable time and watched football and fell asleep.

I got up on time this morning too and came to church to get things lined up for the outdoor service this morning at church. It is a beautiful day and the church actually officially installed me into the position of Director of Youth Ministries. It is such an honor and I am so excited to work with Hamilton Reformed Church and Young Life also. My parents came to this service and the sermon was really good about worship and service and how they go hand in hand... At least that is what I got out of it. We then had a potluck after church and so my parents got to meet many of the people from church and I got to meet a few more people also. Good food and I am feeling a little sick now because I had to many sweets, there was too many desserts to have just one! Well I need to get ready for the High school youth group (C.I.A.) kickoff that we are having tonight. It is going to be a lot of fun and I hope a lot of kids come so I can even meet more and more of the kids at church and from the community.
