Here is what happened on Wednesday, April 19 in the Hamilton Middle School.
There is one of the students that gets mocked by most of the students and who doesn't have many friends. There is another student who used to mocked by most of the students. This 7th grader has been standing up for his friend that is getting mocked all the time. He tries to stop the mocking from happening. And not only that he is taking this student, that doesn't have many friends, under his wings and loving him in some awesome way. On Wednesday we stayed after lunch with him and tried to give him some suggestions. He made him aware of many of the things that the other students were doing or saying. He told him that it is going to hurt to here all of this, but ignoring it completely doesn't help. So he is trying to give him suggestions of things he can change so that students won't mock him as much. He isn't just trying to make him feel better for the moment by saying it is alright, but he is trying to help the situation! He is inviting him to his home anytime! The kid that is getting mocked does not live in the best neighborhood so this is so important to get him out and just because he gets to hang out with his friend.
This was amazing to see this student take his friend under his wings. Amazing to see that he is willing to take more critisism and more mocking so that his friend doesn't have to take as much! I Learned a lot Wednesday about what it means to be a friend, a neighbor, and to be like Christ.

Amazing, isn't it, how one can be in the position to lead, teach, and guide...and then most of the time my students end up teaching me more than I teach them. Thanks for sharing your story. What an awesome testimony of the Spirit at work!
