On Monday Mike diagnosed himself with what researchers call whoopy cough. He has been battling this cough for 7 weeks and he has not been able to gain any ground, until Monday that is. Mike reported "knowing the virus is the first step." Mike is confident know that he is going to live on, he is going to survive, because today is his independence day.
Mike was then seen painting his face with blue diagonal stripes and then heard speaking in a Scottish accent "I am Mike Elders, and I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?Aye, fight and you may die, run and you'll live - at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!"
Today (Thursday Aug. 17) I am still coughing... No one said it would be easy.

have you tried jumping up and down and beating your breast everytime you feel a cough coming? i hear it works wonders :)

Mike, I hope you're serious about the NW part of the country. We would have a phenomenal time if you came. We could conquer mountains, etc...
