First Youth Group

So I had the first youth group meeting tonight. Just to let you know. Both the junior highers and the high schoolers. I spent most of the time with the high schoolers but showed up to introduce myself with the other leaders and to get to know the kids names of the junior highers.

The time spent with the high schoolers was good I thought. It was mostly get to know you and us time and I got to talk about what we hope to do this year with the group. Are theme actually for this year is From The World To The Word: We are planning on making the Word of God central to what we do this year, whether it be what we are talking about, doing, learning. Whatever topic we want to talk about we want to look at what the World says the Truth is and what God's Word says the Truth is. I believe God knows what He is talking about more than we do so I think we need to keep focusing on letting God's Word show us how to live and letting God change us.

So that is good stuff. I will also need to make more time to personally spend with God. I got away from it too much this week as I was trying to spend time with my friend Katie before she left this morning for Trinidad. She is training with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) there which is really exciting.

Well it has been a great weekend even though my weekends aren't typical as in not working. I love my job so it is good to work. I have one of the greatest jobs in the world. I get to build relationships with youth and others and help people grow closer to God and help them serve others. All while doing the same myself with lots of Gods strength. Because I can't do it on my own. That about sums it up. Over and Out.
