Oh So Long Since I Last Posted

I really love posting and some times I let the other things in my life that I love and some that I don't love get in the way of my taking time to journal and spread the love. But even on this fully of days I thought I would say "a few words"
Life is good here is the town of Hamilton. A week ago I got to preach in front of the WHOLE congregation! It was a lot of fun. We had a youth service on Feb. 12 in the morning (yeah, that is not the night service where only a few show up) so I said I would share some words. I was really excited about sharing about what it means to be Christians in Action. We explored the difference between collecting title and TESTIMONIES!!!! (with my fist clenching onto the idea in the air) I quoted a lot of different people in the sermon and on of them was Tony Campolo, so I got to preach like he does (lots of yelling, if you havent heard him before) which was a lot of fun and very meaningful.
One of my junior high girls actually quoted my sermon back to me today, which was really awesome. So remembered the idea of titles or TESTIMONIES (a week and a half later!!!). That was really encouraging to see that she was listening and it really stuck with her, the main point stuck with her. That's good stuff! I am excited. Be prepared in season and out of season to speak some truth and love into people.
A Great quote that I was trying to tell someone the other night, but forgot how it went exactly, and remember right now is "Are you talking because you have to say something, or because you have something to say?" That is a great question for all of us preachers (which is all of us Christians "be prepared in season and out")...
