Trust, that sums in up!

So one of my friends was writing about trust so I thought I would to since I think about this often also.
I have heard over and over again that Trust is the key to life. We need to be able to Trust God. To put our trust in God can be on so many levels too. I just want to Jump into God's abundant life, God's arms, but it is hard to do that. There is a difference between just leaning on God with our feet still supporting us and getting totally off the ground and fully relying on God. I am talking in analogies in analogies a lot here, but hey how about one more... Jesus take the wheel!
There is a book that I am trying to find on my book selves that is all about this (well I am sure a lot of the books are about this)... Oh, yes "Ruthless Trust" by Brennan Manning. I have read most of it but not all of it like most of my books. The forward says Ruthless means "without pity" or standing against all self-pity. "He is calling us to a trust that stoutly refuses to regard self-interest as the highest good in life." We need to Trust that what God's truth is the best way because he created this world so He should know the best way to live in it. But we are bombarded with so many lies that it is hard to know what to trust is the truth. Is what is in my head from God or from all the lies I have been molested with. We need to work at hearing God's voice some times with all the lies out there. One of my mentors told me last week when I was expressing some concerns with how I was spending my time with different kids, to trust God that he will let you know what you need to be doing. Don't worry about it just keep going and trust God. Sometimes we just need to keep doing what is good and God will direct us more once we are moving.
Another part of Trust that Ruthless Trust talks about is what needs to lay on our heart is "relentless Trust that every morning was God's morning. Hail, rain, or snow (or tornado, or hurricane, or death, or sickness, or I could go on and on)-- it was a gift from God, and the only appropriate response was thanksgiving." A Song comes to mind "This is the day, This is the day, That the Lord has Made, That the Lord has made. We will rejoice, We will Rejoice, And be Glad in it, and be glad in it."
Well Trust me on this one, that you can Trust God!

Trust is a beautiful thing, but not always easy. The song you sang...we sang it to the kids at an orphanage we visited in Romania. And they knew it and sang it back to us in Hungarian. It was pretty sweet - and reminded me that even overseas (and over-states) people worship God...not just here. :) Love you, Mike E!

mike i have been thinking about trust a lot lately, it keeps coming up in conversations, Bible studies and sermons.

the way you discribed trust in your blog it almost could be equated with faith - do you think that is true? can you replace 'faith' with the word 'trust'?

i have my own opinions on this :) but i am interested in what you have to say.

later.

Hey! I know this is random, but in church Sunday there was a man from Haiti talking about Ezekiel 47. I think it goes along well with some of your analogies. You cannot just lean on God, or let him carry you through, He wants to teach you how to swim.
